At FIGY Travel Foundation, we enable people from all walks of life to have the opportunity to make a positive life-changing impact in rural communities in the beautiful African country of Tanzania through volunteering vacations. Our volunteer programmes are the most affordable and sustainable way to immerse yourself in new cultures, connect with like-minded international volunteers and make a difference through work and travel.

Featured programmes
Agriculture
Discover rural life and contribute to local farming communities as an agriculture volunteer. Teach smallhorders how to be more efficient growing crops or keeping livestock. Help schools by setting up an agricultural plan to gain income and provide meals to the students. Discuss the positive outcome of well kept land with small groups.
Teaching
Experience the beauty of Mwanza, Tanzania while making a positive impact teaching children. Help teachers setup a program for subjects and learn from each other’s skills. Be creative and organize small school events like games and sports. Make music, sing and dance with the young ones or have discussions with debating groups at schools.
Healthcare
Gain hands-on experience in healthcare while making a difference in underserved communities. Help dispensaries and learn from each other’s skills. Visit patients at home in the rural area and help them treat their wounds and injuries. Try to make adifference at one of the nearby hospitals and/or help disabled children at schools.

Our partner Stichting Support Schoolfees already funded 2.754 charity projects.

Prior teaching experience is not required for the teaching volunteer program, but some experience or affinity may be helpful.
