"My trip to Tanzania has been one of my best experiences in life"

"My trip to Tanzania was one of my best experiences in my life. The people that work on the project, the lodge and it's surroundings are wonderful and they make sure that everything is perfect and volunteers feel safe all the time. The project itself is a life changing experience, surround by love, smiles and gratefulness. I recommend this to everyone, age doesn't matter, you just need to want it."

"I would recommend this to anyone to broaden your outlook with a positive impact not only for yourself but also for the local"

"For my minor and thesis, I travelled to the area where SSF's projects are located to teach English, among other subjects. With a warm welcome at Baraka airport and the teachers at the school, I quickly felt welcome in a foreign country with a foreign culture. Precisely by being culture-intensive and keeping an open mind, I saw a lot, learned a lot and also definitely was able to do something for the environment. I would recommend this to anyone to broaden your outlook with a positive impact not only for yourself but also for the local"

"This was a great experience, and I learned a lot from it. I felt very grateful to meet all these wonderful people."

"I got the opportunity from my school to do my internship in another country, and I was really interested in Tanzania. Me and three other students were introduced to FIGY Travel and Stichting Support School Fees (SSF), and we felt an instant connection. So, in October 2022 we stayed at Mwanza Lake View Farm for three months! We  volunteered at the schools and visited a lot of places. Like a prison, some farms, Mwanza town, Juma island and many kinds of schools. We also did a lot of activities with the children from the school and from the neighborhood like games, puzzles, singing, dancing, sports, and we provided sexual education. This was a great experience, and I  learned a lot from it. The people of Tanzania are so welcoming and friendly, it was amazing to meet all the teachers, children, and residents. The people that work at the farm are also so super friendly, they made me feel at home during my stay, so that was really nice. I felt very grateful to meet all these wonderful people.

"I really recommend to do volunteering work at this organisation. It is very well organised and they support you very well during the trip. I will definitely go back in the future!"

I volunteered in June 2022. This was a wonderful experience, where I learned so much about the culture and living in such different circumstances. I visited a lot of places, mostly schools and farms, because of the project I was working on.

The project was about creating  opportunities for schools to grow their own crops, with possibilities such as constructing a water source or transferring knowledge.

Besides that I met a lot of very kind people. I really recommend to do volunteering work at this organisation. it is very well organised and they support you very well during the trip. I will definitely go back in the future!

"I would highly recommend this organisation. Everything is very well arranged. I miss this place already. Tanzania really has my heart. I will definitely come back one day!"

For my studies I volunteered for a period of 3 months. This was from October until December. It was such an unforgettable experience.

The Eco Lodge ‘Mwanza lake view Farm’ is amazing. It is beautiful, and relaxing. The staff is super friendly and helpful, literally with everything. After every workday, it felt like coming home. It is also located in a nice neighborhood. I played outside with the kids in the neighborhood, almost everyday. I felt safe staying there!

I think I can say that I’ve never had such a flexible and supportive internship in my life ever before. I did my research in different primary schools. At first I was doubting the subject of my research, and this organization gave me the right assistance I needed. I gave sexual education classes at the schools and did research about this topic in the village. It was very nice working together with different primary schools, the clinic and local people. They were so thankful and gave me a warm welcome everytime I arrived.

I visited many places, I went on Safari at the Serengeti, visited Mwanza town many times. This organization are able to organize really nice trips. I also met many kind people and made some friends. I would highly recommend this organisation. Everything is very well arranged. I miss this place already. Tanzania really has my heart. I will definitely come back one day!

"All in all, this is an experience never to forget!"

"I spent 5 weeks volunteering in schools in the Mwanza area. I helped with teaching, including English classes. The teachers and students are super nice and sweet and very grateful for the volunteers' help. Every day I enjoyed going back to school! Besides going to school, there is also room for other activities such as a safari or visiting villages. All in all, this is an experience never to forget!"

"This experience has brought me a different outlook on life, and for that, I am very grateful"

For three months, I did an internship in Tanzania under the guidance of this organization. They were always flexible with me about any experiences I could gain or plans that could be implemented. There wasn't a single moment I experienced as being unpleasant. The locals in the country also really stole my heart with the incredible hospitality and ease in which the people live with each other. This experience has brought me a different outlook on life, and for that, I am very grateful to this organization. This is definitely a place to recommend for internships or volunteering!

"I would definitely recommend volunteering/doing an internship at this organization and I would love to come back again"

For my pedagogy study internship, I came to Mwanza Lake View Farm in October 2022, where I stayed for three months. During these three months, I got to see a lot of the area and visited several schools. Some of these schools have already been renovated by FIGY's partner foundation: Stichting Support School Fees. This is a big step for the health and education of  children, but also for the teachers. Thanks to Baraka (the Tanzanian co-owner of SSF), I was able to visit these schools and the surrounding area because he brought me here with his van. Besides Baraka, many other people work at Mwanza Lake View Farm. Everyone is very friendly and they give you a warm feeling as soon as you arrive. A lot is arranged for you if you want to get out and about, but if you want to stay at the Farm, that's certainly not a punishment either; the farm is beautifully situated on Lake Victoria, has a small beach and is nicely decorated with plants, besides that, the cottages are also fully equipped.
I would definitely recommend volunteering/doing an internship at this organization and I would love to come back again.
